of making a bike with no gears must be numb to pain. Saturday morning Jacob and I went for a ride and I took my new "gearless" singlespeed bike out for the first time. The last two hills we had to climb were leg numbing. I kept thinking how much easier this would be if I could shift down, but I'm glad I couldn't. It forced me to work hard and push myself which is exactly what I needed to do. My first race is in two months and I gotta start working off this winter fat.

Kiersten enjoyed playing with her new play kitchen that Stacie bought last week. I think her biggest thrill is loading up a shelf with lots of play food and utensils and then swatting them all off. Oh well, at least she's now emptying our kitchen cupboards anymore.
