Ryan Hanser cutting around a corner like a mad man. Would have been a cool pic with a steady hand and better camera.

Mike was kind enough to let me test ride his new rig he just purchased from Mr 24 Jeff Kerkove. I gotta say this bike rides sweet. Jeff is selling '05 twin to this one shortly so I may be throwing the ol' Sworks on Ebay and making an upgrade. For as different as this bike is from my single speed or my race bike for that matter it only took about 2 mins for me to feel comfortable and really like the way the cockpit is set up. It felt very nimble (not twitchy like my single speed) cornering/turning and the rear suspension just sucks up any roots or bump in the trail. I had to give it the Quioxte thumbs up.

After the ride it was back to Rasmussen for their Customer Appreciation party. The Who's Who of the Des Moines (and Webster City) cycling community was all there. Everyone was just visiting, parusing the store, playing pool, drinking beer and checking in with the Look bike rep who also was on hand. He was doing a demo on foot/knee alignment and how shoe inserts can help line everything back up. If you've ever cycled you know how important that could be to serious cyclist. Your knee and ankle make a lot of rotations during a ride. Before the ride he hooked me up with some "Sport Legs" nutrional supplement. I'm not good with the science but he stated it helps keep the body from generating a crap load of lactic acid during a workout. Considering my poor leg shape they did feel okay during my ride. It might be worth checking out again.

Upon arriving home Kiersten quickly brought every toy truck and car to the family room and we proceeded to play. Our highlight was rescueing the lil plastic horsey stuck in the mud (on the recliner) using her fire truck ladder.

A big Happy Birthday to my dad today also. I need to check with him and see what's up for lunch.
