Bike to Work....day 4
Author: Bake
Modified up the route today and rode from a different starting spot. I dropped the kids off at daycare and made my way over to Merle Hay and headed down the inter urban trail and picked up the Bill Riley trail to downtown and then south to CDS. I liked the little change up.
My route change was needed since I was meeting the IMBA TCC at Grounds For Celebration for lunch. Gotta say I've never eaten there but I was very impressed with my pasta and really impressed with the mocha smoothie I had. After lunch we headed over to the Sycamore trail for an afternoon of trail scouting with some PCCB folks.
This is what happens when you try and maintain a trail on flood plane terrain. Notice how it hasn't stopped the quad traffic from tearing it up.
Ran across this little feller(or maybe it was a girl I wasn't going to get that close) on the way out. He never moved once as we went around him. I think he was as scared as I was. (yes, I hate snakes!)
There's been a little friction around Sycamore revolving around a development going in.
After Sycamore we jetted over to the Center trails and rode a loop there showing off CITA's trail we've worked very hard on for the last many years.
Kristen checking out our trail feature.
Lastly we did some trail work brainstorming on one of several G-Drop sections of the trail. It's a fun section of trail today but too steep to be sustainable over the long run.
And that concludes my bike to work week. Tomorrow I'm at home with the kids so I'll have an ultra short commute. Although I'm sure at some point Kiersten will be begging to get outside.
