Considering how many people I've heard from who have done the same thing, you've gotta think the folks at Yakima and Thule love this problem: Cha-ching! New sales!
Luckily for me, my 4Runner's OEM rack crumpled a bit, and I had RockyMount bike mounts that survived the trauma. If I can scare up some spare rack parts from a junkyard (or pay the dealer $120) I'll be good to go again.
