New York recap
Author: Bake
Recap from New York…..been back for over a week but finally got a chance to upload some of my pics from the trip.
I spent a few nights at this bar. I love brew pubs.
Hmmm…Baker’s bourbon. Need to try and find some of this stuff.
Spent some time on the Brooklyn Promenade viewing the skyline of lower Manhattan. It gave me some to reflect on what was missing from it. The hate that flows thru the blood of those that did this to us is just hard to fathom.
This was the sign pointing me to the Brooklyn Bridge. Pretty nice eh?
On my little walk a bout that day I wanted to see the bridge. I only planned to walk up and check it out and ended up in lower Manhattan. Guess I went further than I thought I would.
Flags were flying at half mast all over the city in memory of 9/11.
Continued my walk to ground zero. It was neat to see the site but unfortunately there’s not much to see now. It’s pretty much fenced off and you can’t see much. Only a large open space where you know something should be.
After walking around the site I found me another local pub for beer. This place was one block away from ground zero right behind Ladder Company 10. On a wall inside the bar they had a large picture taken after 9/11 showing the front of their place with piles of debris up to the top of the door and also the fire escape was littered with debris.
On flight home I stopped over in Detroit. The had t he trippy’est tunnel between the concourse. Weird music going on with different colors changing behind the opague glass.
